Aspen Renewable Energy Day Features “Wise Policy Needed for a Smart Grid” Panel – Sat. Aug 18th

05.08.2012 by emily Category Electromagnetic Health Blog

Aspen’s annual A.R.E. Day (www.areday.net) gathering of leading renewable energy and clean technology experts will feature a panel called “Wise Policy Needed for a Smart Grid”. It will highlight significant deficiencies in the current approach to smart grid design and technology, and will point the way to true sustainability via integration of renewable energy technologies and ‘distributed’ power generation. The panel will include smart grid technology expert Tim Schoechle, PhD, new energy visionary Duncan Campbell, Esq., Camilla Rees of ElectromagneticHealth.org and Jim Turner, Esq. of Citizens for Health and the National Institute for Science, Law and Public Policy. The “Wise Policy Needed for a Smart Grid” program, scheduled for Saturday August 18 at 3:45 p.m., will preview an upcoming white paper to be published by the National Institute for Science, Law and Public Policy, authored by Dr. Timothy Schoechle, called “Getting Smarter About the Smart Grid”, which will be released in September. The panel will reveal greenwashing going on related to the smart grid, where many people mistakenly believe that the present smart meter technologies being widely deployed are a necessary part of the smart grid, and will help lead to better supply/demand balancing and sustainability. The panel will define the real technologies, grid design and legal and policy steps necessary to safely and securely achieve true energy sustainability.
