Interphone Study on Brain Tumors and Cell Phones Expected Soon
Coordinated by the International Agency for Research on Cancer, the Interphone project is the largest study of a link between cell phones and brain tumors ever attempted. Research teams from 13 different countries participated in the study, which has cost $30 million to date and was originally scheduled to be completed in 2005. According to Microwave News, the release of the study was delayed due to disagreement amongst the teams on how to interpret the findings of an increase in tumors among long-term cell phone users.
The study will be released on May 18th, 2010 and is scheduled to be published in the June issue of International Journal of Epidemiology.
