Mayor Gavin Newsom has proposed new legislation requiring cell phone retailers in San Francisco to disclose Specific Absorption Rate (SAR) values for radiation emitted by cell phone. The legislation went before the City Operations & Neighborhood Services Committee on Monday, May 24, 2010 and was voted to go onto the full Board with a recommendation in favor of its passage.
