The Dutch Nationaal Platform Stralingsrisico has prepared a valuable analysis of knowledge development about the health effects of electromagnetic fields dating back to the 1950s. The stages are grouped into: 1) Measuring short term effects of electromagnetic fields on equipment (1950-1990), 2) Calculating short-term health effects (1960-2000), 3) Statistical examination of long-term effects on health (1990-), 4) Psychological explanation for not understood long-term effects (1995-), 5) Approaches to long-term health effects from bio-disruption (2000-), 6) Revelation of health effects from medical practices (2002-), and 7) Meta-synthesis of long-term health effects from bio-effects (2005-).
