Letter from B. Blake Levitt to Governor Malloy:

Dear Governor Malloy,

Attached are the comments of The Berkshire-Litchfield Environmental Council (BLEC) regarding DEEP’s Draft, Comprehensive Energy Strategy for Connecticut. BLEC is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit serving the Northwest Corner of Connecticut and Berkshires region. We have over 500 members.
BLEC believes there are key aspects — such as in smart grid/metering that will take the state in a costly, unproductive, potentially litigious, dangerous direction. Connecticut is in a unique position to learn from the mistakes of other states and take advantage of recent federal reports regarding safety and cybersecurity. Dan Esty is proposing to take us in the wrong direction. There are better ways to approach our environmental challenges. We hope you read our report carefully and encourage Commissioner Esty to back off from some of his “centerpiece” proposals.

Best Regards,

B. Blake Levitt, Communications Director (for Starling W. Childs, President)
